HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT COORDINATOR

position with the

County of Maui

is within the Department of Housing, Housing and Community Development Division. The Project Coordinator will manage property development and capital improvement projects, performing the full range of project development and coordination work—from initial project definition and budgeting through construction, completion, and the warranty period. Responsibilities

Coordinating procurement, contracts, budgets, and progress reports for housing projects. Overseeing project management activities such as payments, change orders, and contract administration to ensure compliance with schedules and funding requirements. Supporting housing planning efforts, including feasibility studies, land acquisition, and financing preparation, while engaging with private developers on affordable housing requirements. Reviewing permit applications and environmental documents to support project development. Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business, economics, urban planning, engineering, or a related field. Four (4) years of professional experience with demonstrated working knowledge of property development activities. Strong oral and writing skills; possession of a valid motor vehicle driver's license (equivalent to Hawaii Type 3). Knowledge

Housing and/or community development project coordination, feasibility analysis, financing coordination, and administration of engineering and other contractual requirements; familiarity with Federal, State and County laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures governing public housing; property development; public and private financing; budgeting and reporting. Ability

Read, comprehend, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to housing and/or community development. Plan, organize and coordinate work; obtain and analyze data; maintain records; present ideas clearly, concisely and effectively, orally and in writing; interact tactfully with others. Supplemental Information

Salary Range:
