Senior Engineer - Data Analytics at GEICO. You will help drive our data-driven transformation, building high-performance, low-maintenance, zero-downtime data solutions within the Data Analytics and Vertical Engineering team. You will develop state-of-the-art data pipelines, models, and reports for large datasets, while championing innovation, best practices, and continuous learning. Position Responsibilities

Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems Utilize programming languages like Python, SQL, and NoSQL databases, along with Apache Spark for data processing, dbt for data transformation, container orchestration services such as Docker and Kubernetes, and various Azure tools and services Produce high-quality reports with tools such as Power BI and Apache Superset to empower sound business decisions Shape product definitions and drive toward optimal solutions Lead design sessions and code reviews to elevate engineering quality Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the development lifecycle Manage data pipelines to ensure consistent data availability Mentor other engineers and share best practices Improve processes within and across teams Qualifications

Advanced programming experience in Python, SQL, dbt, Spark, Kafka, Git; experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) Advanced experience with Data Warehouses (Snowflake preferred), dimensional modeling, and analytics Knowledge of business intelligence tools (Power BI and Apache Superset preferred) Experience with Apache Iceberg for large-scale data lake management is a plus Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow) to automate complex data pipelines Experience architecting and designing ETL and BI systems; supporting existing ETL/BI systems Experience with CI/CD for data solutions Ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Understanding of DevOps concepts and Azure DevOps tools Knowledge of developer tooling across the data development lifecycle Understanding of microservices, REST APIs, and GraphQL Understanding of data quality monitoring and automated testing Strong problem-solving abilities Experience with data across Marketing, Product, Sales, Service, Customer, Billing, Agency, Claims, or Telematics is preferred Experience

4+ years of professional data/analytics engineering and big data technologies 3+ years of data architecture and design 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service 3+ years of experience with ETL and/or BI tools 2+ years of experience with Spark and Databricks Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Data Analytics or equivalent education or work experience Salary and Benefits

Base pay range: $95,000.00/yr - $230,000.00/yr The above salary is a general guideline. Final offer depends on factors including role scope, experience, education, location, and market considerations.
