About the Role Looking for a Hotel Controller to oversee all financial operations of a property. This role ensures accuracy in revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities while leading and developing a small accounting team. You’ll prepare budgets, forecasts, and reports, while making sure all financial activities follow company policies and accounting standards. What You’ll Do Lead, train, and support the accounting team Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting Verify payroll inputs (gratuities, commissions, time off, time clock punches) Reconcile general ledger and cash accounts Prepare journal entries and coordinate monthly closings Develop budgets and forecasts for the property Ensure all financial records follow accounting principles and company policies Prepare tax filings (city, state, federal) for finance review Partner with leadership teams and attend staff/committee meetings Assist with internal and external audits Review sales tax, perform account reconciliations, and income journal entries What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience as a Hotel Controller Experience opening a hotel is a plus Familiarity with the Boston market is helpful Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment Seniority level
