Piper Maddox
Overview
Location: New York City (hybrid). We’re working with a well-capitalized, growth-focused renewable developer and IPP that builds distributed solar and battery projects across the U.S. They’re looking for a senior commercial leader to architect and run the company’s revenue-generating engine as they scale. The role
As Head of Chief Commercial Officer, you’ll design and run the company’s go-to-market approach, lead deal teams, and personally drive high-impact wins. This is a strategic, hands-on role that blends team leadership with active deal-making — you’ll translate market insight into reproducible pipelines and closed projects. Responsibilities
Leading market prioritization and territory strategy using a repeatable, data-driven process; translate priorities into execution plans for origination teams. Building and maintaining a steady funnel of development-ready opportunities through direct origination, partnerships, and targeted outreach. Managing a small but high-performing origination group — setting targets, coaching sellers, and tracking outcomes. Executing project acquisitions and strategic transactions that complement the company’s development pipeline. Owning commercial negotiations for offtake and subscription-based product lines to optimize revenue and project economics. Being a senior voice in company strategy meetings and partnering closely with the executive team and investors on commercial topics. Qualifications
10+ years as a commercial leader from the distributed generation/distributed energy space (solar, solar + storage, or similar). Proven ability to scale a small commercial team and improve sales/origination productivity. Strong commercial instincts and negotiating experience across offtake and project sale structures. Great communication skills and the ability to build relationships across customers, partners, and stakeholders. Why Join?
High-impact role at a company entering a rapid growth phase — you’ll shape commercial processes and go-to-market motion from the ground up. Broad remit across origination, commercial structuring, and M&A — strong opportunity to influence strategy and P&L outcomes. Competitive compensation package and leadership equity opportunity.
