Software Engineering Manager - Flight Controls in Everett, Washington. The Boeing Company is seeking a Software Engineering Manager - Flight Controls to support the Flight Controls and Mechanical/Hydraulic (FCMH) team. Position Responsibilities
Oversee professional employees engaged in engineering and technical activities within Software specifically focusing on Flight Controls and Mechanical / Hydraulic systems Develop and execute comprehensive software project and implementation plans tailored to FCMH, ensuring adherence to compliance Provide technical management and guidance to partners and stakeholders in FCMH, emphasizing quality assurance throughout the development process Lead and oversee technical strategies, ensuring effective development and support for FCMH software while maintaining high-quality benchmarks Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers (both internal and external), stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports within FCMH Inspire, develop, and motivate team members to achieve their full potential in the context of FCMH software development and certification Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
5+ years of experience working in aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industry 2+ years of experience in developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with stakeholders, peers, and business partners 2+ years of experience in a leadership role leading global teams, initiatives, or projects to meet business objectives and influence change 2+ years of experience in team building, leading cross-functional teams, motivating and engaging team members Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited program in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science, or related field 5+ years of experience leading a software development team through the full software life cycle Familiarity with FAA DO-178, DO-330, ARP 4754 certification Experience in technical management and oversight of projects and resources Experience in team building, coaching, leading cross-functional teams, motivating and engaging team members Experience with electrical engineering and integration of complex applications and software Travel
