The role serves as a functional leader and strategic partner to the Chief of Staff, Finance, and broader security leadership team, extending beyond traditional program management. The Director of Security Operations will drive strategy initiatives and facilitate the rhythm of business (ROB), creating clarity in ambiguous situations to support prioritization and decision making for leaders across the organization. The role may execute business plans in coordination with program managers to ensure continuity of business operations at all times, including in adverse conditions, in accordance with corporate governance. It leads strategy execution across internal stakeholders and partners with the leadership team to design complex budgets and manage multiple workstreams. It also shares goals, objectives, vision, and best practices across the Business Management community at Microsoft, and fosters a healthy scorecard and culture aligned with the People Strategy and One Microsoft Diversity and Inclusion plan.”

Architect the Rhythm of the Business (RoB) strategy, lead planning, business reviews, and operational cadence; communicate effectively with senior leaders and partner teams; develop strategy plans to inform structure and insights that predict outcomes; collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Finance to create the full meeting cadence and communications plan for the CSA, documenting, socializing, and obtaining leadership approval. Own fiscal year budget and headcount planning and execution; coordinate with Security CVP and Finance to allocate resources aligned to organizational priorities. Drive the fiscal year Marketing planning cycle, manage the consolidated planning calendar, and ensure cross-team workstreams are on time; partner with marketing leaders to implement the Security growth strategy, marketing plan, GTM plan, and Marcom plan. Define, track, and report Security business metrics and dashboards; develop and maintain dashboards; integrate marketing scorecard metrics with business health metrics to support the RoB; advocate and present business cases to senior leadership. Standardize processes and timelines to instill operational discipline; ensure data integrity and quality in all business reporting and develop dashboards and backlogs to support planning. Manage the end-to-end Security Launch Council, ensuring cross-functional alignment across product, marketing, and field teams; lead planning, execution, facilitation, and recap of decisions and actions. Drive execution of the marketing budget and headcount planning; ensure alignment to quarterly accountability and outcomes tied to business priorities and metrics. Coordinate budgeting and forecasting metrics; identify actions to improve performance; anticipate challenges and contribute to strategic investment decisions; work with Procurement on future resources; align on headcount strategy and participate in organizational design for headcount allocation. Support additional rhythm of the business cadences as needed and serve as a strategic partner to the Chief of Staff to CVP, providing ongoing executive support and rhythm of business execution. Identify and implement tools or systems to improve team productivity (e.g., reporting automation, project tracking, AI); champion adoption of these technologies across the team. Required/Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or related roles. OR equivalent experience. 8+ years of experience in business operations, strategic planning, or program management. 3+ years of experience managing budgets, dashboards, and metrics. Additional/Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in a relevant field AND 12+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or related roles OR Bachelor's Degree with 15+ years of experience in the same areas OR equivalent experience.
