Recruitment notice for Alaska residents. The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Administrative Services Division, is recruiting for a Microcomputer/Network Specialist 1 located in Juneau. This position is in the General Government Unit (GGU) at a Range 18. No cover letter required. The recruitment is open to Alaska residents only and applicants must meet Alaska residency requirements.
What You Will Be Doing
Join our team as one of four technical support specialists reporting to the Administrative Services Division. You will provide operational support for DOL's servers, infrastructure, networks, PCs, and hardware across 19 offices and diverse security zones. Responsibilities include delivering end-user support through the IT Helpdesk queue and MESD ticketing system, managing IT equipment, and resolving hardware, software, and network issues while supporting a wide range of in-house and third-party applications.

Candidates should possess some or all of the following position-specific competencies:
Computers: Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
Technical Competence: Applies formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform the job; evaluates technical information and advises others on technical issues.
Technical Documentation: Knowledge of procedures for developing technical and operational support documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides competencies in:
Customer Service: Works with clients to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations; commits to quality products and services.
Information Assurance: Knowledge of methods to protect information systems and data (availability, authentication, confidentiality, integrity).
Systems Integration: Knowledge of installing, integrating, and optimizing information systems components.
Technical Problem Solving: Troubleshoots, diagnoses, analyzes, and identifies system malfunctions to determine root causes.
