Perform diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures as defined in the Respiratory Care Services scope of clinical practice. Work performed in accordance with physician orders. Duties are performed in neonatal, pediatric and adult patient populations. Perform all duties and responsibilities required of a Respiratory Care Practitioner level III. Deliver expert care in delivering specialty gases on intra-facility transport. Initiate and participate in decision making/evaluation of new equipment and/or clinical procedures. Review, revise and develop policy and procedure as required. Serve as a primary resource for asthma education, TJC compliance and trach education. Serve as a resource and mentor to colleagues and other professionals. Perform relief charge duties. Be proficient in and serve as a resource for therapies (e.g., pulmonary vasodilators, therapeutic medical gases, complex modalities, unusual treatments/medications). Perform inter-facility transports with inclusion of medical gases (air and ground). Provide department-specific onboarding to new hires/travelers within the department. Provide clinical onboarding to new hires/travelers within the department. Assist with ventilator competency check-offs for new hires/travelers within the department. Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications, is qualifying. Education: Completion of a CoARC approved respiratory care program. Education: Three (3) years of practice as an RCP at LPCHS. Seven (7) years of experience as an RCP in a Neo-Peds Critical Care facility (including time in the Respiratory Care Residency Program). NICU LVL 3; Pediatric Trauma LVL 1 License/Certification: BLS - Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program RCP - Respiratory Therapy License from the State of California RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist NPS - Neonatal Pediatric Specialist PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Knowledge

Ability to adjust communications to fit the needs and level of understanding of the receiver. Knowledge of computer systems and software used in the functional area; knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of new technologies in the field and ability to stay abreast of updates; knowledge of indications, contraindications and hazards of mechanical ventilation, respiratory therapies, anatomy, physiology and pathology related to the respiratory system. Ability to conduct analysis and formulate conclusions using critical thinking. Physical Requirements

Pay Range: Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary within ranges may be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role and internal equity. Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range. Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $75.65 to $85.83.
