Overview
We are hiring a full time Leadership Position working as a Program Director for our Childcare Division (Afterschool/Day Camp) at the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. In this position, you will build relationships with school administration, parents, and a team of part-time staff who lead daily activities with children, keep kids safe, and contribute to high-quality Afterschool and Day Camp programming. The Program Director leads part-time staff in managing several afterschool sites and up to three day camps, ensuring licensing compliance and delivering outstanding service to school hosts, families, branch partners, and the community. Programs include Afterschool and Day Camp in a territory with a home office in the corresponding area. This specific Program Director will office at our JER Chilton YMCA branch in Rockwall, TX. Mileage is reimbursed when traveling to sites other than the home office and if the travel is further than normal mileage to the home office. This job works 9:30am-6:30pm. Some Saturdays are required throughout the year due to events and trainings. Responsibilities
Supervision experience with at least one year of direct reports: Hiring, Coaching, Managing a team who directly report to him/her. Support and demonstrate compassion and care toward all participants and families. Manage multiple sites and day camps, ensuring licensing compliance and high-quality program delivery. Actively support the YMCA's fundraising efforts to ensure access to high-quality programs for every child and family. Onboard, train, and resource staff to deliver a top-notch childcare program promoting a healthy body, mind, and spirit. Manage financial responsibilities associated with Afterschool and Day Camp programs and assist with staff recruitment and program promotion. Be a leader and role model aligned with the YMCA core values: Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Caring. Build relationships with school administration, families, and the local community; communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Be visible to Part Time Teams in YMCA programs under their leadership. Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to be compassionate and caring toward all. Minimum of 2 years of experience in management, education or business with a demonstrated ability to build and coach a team of individuals successfully. Minimum of 1 or more years of experience in multi-unit childcare management. Strong skills in planning, recruitment, customer service and program quality assurance. Proven ability to build teams and relationships—able to build rapport within the local community including school administration and a proven ability to communicate effectively with all. Preferred applicants will have a BS/BA degree and/or are currently a Director Certified through Child Care Licensing. Ability to lift to 50 pounds, and travel to required destinations in the territory. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Benefits
