Overview
The DC office of Hogan Lovells is seeking a highly motivated junior tax associate with 1-2 years of experience to join its dynamic tax practice to assist with corporate and partnership tax matters in connection with M&A, investment funds, capital markets, private equity, and other transactional work, both for domestic and cross-border matters. Candidates with transactional tax experience including drafting, reviewing and negotiating transactional documents relating to mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and fund formation are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have outstanding research, writing and analytical skills, strong academic credentials, and a commitment to excellence. The Hogan Lovells tax practice is friendly and collegial, and more senior members of the group (including senior associates, counsels and partners) mentor and supervise more junior associates. A minimum of one-year large law firm experience is preferred.
Responsibilities and experience
Assist with corporate and partnership tax matters in connection with M&A, investment funds, capital markets, private equity, and other transactional work, including domestic and cross-border matters.
Draft, review and negotiate transactional documents relating to mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and fund formation.
Support senior team members with research, analysis and drafting as part of client matters.
Qualifications and Skills
1-2 years of experience as a tax associate; minimum one year of large law firm experience preferred.
Outstanding research, writing and analytical skills; strong academic credentials; commitment to excellence.
Transactional tax experience is encouraged, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating transactional documents.
Candidates must be eligible to practice in the U.S. and have a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school; must be a member of the Bar in the United States.
