We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Manager to lead an EMR development team—a group of seven analysts—providing strategic direction, operational oversight, and transformational leadership. This role supports more than 50 outpatient clinics and 10 inpatient units across diverse service lines at Clements University Hospital, including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Physical Therapy, Inpatient Rehab, Surgical Services, Anesthesia, Zale Lipshy Hospital, and more. Experience with Epic applications is highly desirable (OpTime, Anesthesia, EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient Orders, EpicCare Inpatient Clin-Doc, Epic Order Transmittal, Epic Rehab). Certification or experience with other Epic applications will be considered. If not currently certified in a clinical application, the expectation is to obtain Epic proficiency with Honors in a clinical application within 30 days of hire. What You’ll Do
As Manager, you will serve as a catalyst for innovation, guiding your team through high-impact projects that support clinical operations and patient care. You will oversee daily operations, ensure optimal team performance, and lead cross-functional initiatives with internal partners across EMR teams, Health System Information Resources (HSIR), academic and administrative IT, and clinical leadership. You will drive seamless coordination, ensure that critical changes are executed with precision and timeliness, and manage components of an established governance process and project meetings with follow-up actions tracked and completed. Lead the Future of Health IT You will build people and processes, with a focus on leadership development—mentoring senior analysts to become the next generation of leaders. You will shape a resilient, forward-looking team and implement a succession strategy to strengthen the department’s leadership pipeline. Champion Agile Innovation Lead multiple Agile/Scrum teams through continuous improvement, elevating performance and delivery across HSIR in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Ensure teams operate with clarity, agility, and purpose. Required Education : High School Diploma or equivalent or Bachelor’s Degree with major coursework in computer science, math, information systems, or related field Experience : 8 years progressively responsible IT experience with High School Diploma including 2 years in supervisory or managerial role; or 6 years progressively responsible IT experience with Bachelor’s Degree including 2 years in supervisory or managerial role Job Duties
Manage Information Resources sections (e.g., Network Services, Software Systems Programming, Computer Training) following university policies to develop and ensure effective programs. Develop, revise, and interpret policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and equitable treatment of employees. Coordinate projects and programs to meet deadlines and provide high-quality service to faculty and staff. Assist campus departments in assessing technical requirements to meet operational needs. Complete work using appropriate technologies and communication skills. Supervise professional and administrative staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Security and EEO Statement
