Clinical Nurse (RN), Adult Emergency Department - 12HR Nights .60 The Stanford Adult Emergency Department is a Level 1 Trauma Center, a designated Comprehensive Stroke Center, Stemi receiving facility, and is Level III Geriatric Accredited. The department features 66 beds and an 11 bed Clinical Decision unit with over 250 patients seen daily. Location: Palo Alto, CA. Onsite at 107010001 Emerg Svcs Adult 500P Nursing. Night shifts: Part-Time, 12-HR Nights and every other weekend (.60 FTE). What You Will Do

The Helping Role Establishes Therapeutic Relationships: create and maintain a climate conducive to healing, provide emotional support and information to patients and families, guide through illness and recovery in alignment with goals and culture. Diagnostic and Monitoring Functions: obtain and interpret assessment data; determine nursing diagnoses; monitor and evaluate data as needed. Plans and Implements Therapeutic Interventions: develop an individualized plan of care in collaboration with patient and family; implement interventions safely; evaluate effectiveness and monitor for adverse responses. Teaching and Coaching: assess learning needs, teach self-care information, tailor instructions to patient, developmental, physiological, psychological, and cultural factors; teach other staff as needed. Effective Management of Rapidly Changing Situations: rapidly assess problems and activate emergency protocols as required. Quality and Compliance: monitor nursing practices for safety and adherence to standards; pursue opportunities for continual improvement. Organization and Prioritization: manage multiple requests, set priorities, delegate appropriately, seek assistance as needed. Team Participation and Leadership: contribute to unit programs, assist in conflict resolution, and support team morale. Technology and Knowledge Sharing: use available technology for communication, documentation, and clinical information; contribute to the knowledge of nursing staff through teaching or governance activities. Education and Professional Development: maintain licensure, BLS, and current knowledge of the patient population; commit to lifelong learning. Communication: communicate effectively in various formats across practice areas. Professional Practice Evaluation: evaluate own practice against standards and guidelines. Education Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university preferred Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Able to communicate effectively in English 1 year of Emergency Department experience required 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department preferred Licenses and Certifications

California Registered Nurse (RN) license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for providers Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification or within 6 months of hire Emergency Nurse Certification (ENC) preferred Physical Demands and Work Conditions
