Clinical Nurse (RN), Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) Emergency Department - 12HR Days .90 at Stanford Health Care. The CDU is a 23-hour observation unit run by the Adult Emergency Department. The Stanford Adult Emergency Department is a Level 1 Trauma Center with numerous accreditations and a high patient volume. This role is a Full-Time, 12-Hour Day position with every other weekend, located in Palo Alto, CA. What You Will Do

The Clinical Nurse provides hands-on care to patients, practicing in an evidence-based manner within the Scope of Practice and hospital policies. Perform all steps of the nursing process: assessment, interpretation of data, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Coordinate care with patients, families, and other health care team members; teach patients and families to manage care and prevent complications. Monitor the quality of nursing care and contribute to professional development, licensure maintenance, and continuing education. Lead, teach, and mentor other staff as needed; participate in unit programs and shared governance activities. Respond to rapidly changing situations and activate emergency protocols as required. Ensure patient safety and compliance with standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. Education Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Able to communicate effectively in English. Two years of telemetry experience. Licenses and Certifications

Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Physical Demands

Frequent lifting of patients and equipment; standing, walking, bending and stooping. Exposure to contagious disease, radiation or infection; use of protective clothing or gear as required. Equal Opportunity

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $92.64 - $106.87 per hour. The salary of the finalist will be set based on factors including internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
