Overview
CORPORATE OFFICE - Scottsdale, AZ | Full Time | 4 Year Degree required in Finance The Vice President of Finance serves as a key member of Arizona Center for Cancer Care executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial health and strategy. This role focuses on strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to support sustainable growth and high-quality patient care. The VP of Finance partners with executives and the Board to align financial decisions with organizational goals while ensuring compliance with all financial regulatory requirements. Day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, payroll, and accounts payable, are managed through direct reports such as the Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountants, and Payroll Specialist, with the VP providing vision, oversight, and strategic direction.
Duties And Responsibilities
Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing financial policies, procedures, and controls.
Provides oversight of all accounting, payroll, and finance operations across AZCCC’s subdivisions, ensuring consistent practices and reporting.
Coordinates and consolidates financial data from subdivisions for reporting and analysis.
Presents monthly financial statements and performance metrics to senior leadership and the Board.
Provides financial analysis to support initiatives, capital investments, pricing, and vendor negotiations.
Advises leadership on financial strategies, market trends, and payer dynamics for sustainable growth.
Safeguards the confidentiality of financial information and strategic plans.
Leads the development and management of operating and capital budgets.
Establishes budget schedules, consolidates data, and prepares actionable plans.
Monitors financial performance, analyzes variances, and initiates corrective actions to meet goals.
Reports on financial condition with trend analysis and forecasts.
Oversees fixed asset management and capital tracking for optimal resource use.
Manages debt service and financing, including lines of credit and repayment strategies.
Manages provider compensation policies, modeling, and administration, including monthly distributions.
Oversees payroll operations to ensure accurate, timely processing, compliance, and reporting.
Oversees financial components of physician hospital support agreements, including audits and reconciliations.
Administers Professional Services Agreements (PSAs) and Management Services Agreements (MSAs), including budgeting, auditing, and reconciliation.
Ensures compliance with GAAP and all regulatory requirements.
Monitors emerging legislation and advises leadership on potential impacts.
Provides oversight of audit processes, integrating results into strategic planning.
Coordinates preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns with external CPAs.
Maintains internal controls to safeguard assets and reduce risk.
Oversees financial management of AZCCC’s self-funded health plan.
Administers pension programs, including 401(k), profit-sharing, and cash balance plans.
Manages census preparation, compliance audits, and 5500 filings while serving on the Pension Committee.
Provides strategic direction to finance and payroll teams while delegating operational tasks to the Controller and Accounting Manager.
Builds and sustains a high-performing finance culture focused on collaboration and accountability.
Oversees succession planning and professional development to ensure leadership continuity.
Maintains professional expertise through workshops, networking, and industry participation.

Qualifications Qualifications/Education Requirements
Master’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within healthcare finance.
Ability to demonstrate strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models, value-based care, and payer contract dynamics.
Ability to demonstrate success in strategic planning, budgeting, capital planning, and financial modeling.
Ability to demonstrate advanced proficiency in financial software systems, analytics, and reporting tools.
Ability to demonstrate exceptional communication and collaboration skills, including translating complex financial information into actionable strategies for senior leadership and the Board.
Working conditions
Typical office setting (8-5; M-F with limited evening/weekend meeting requirements). Exposed to moderate noise levels.
Emphasizes collaboration with various stakeholders.
Necessitates effective communication and teamwork.
Functions in a fast-paced environment.
May require flexibility in working hours.
Requires adherence to safety protocols and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between locations.
