Overview
West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine seeks a hospitalist for a full-time faculty hospitalist position. Ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Primary locations: Morgantown, WV and Fairmont, WV. Depending on operational needs, may be assigned to additional sites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania with travel as needed. Responsibilities
Practice in Internal Medicine / Hospitalist Medicine; provide excellent patient care; teach medical students, residents, and fellows. Inpatient hospitalist service with 26 weeks annually of clinical duties; night coverage is admissions with cross-coverage responsibilities. Participate in teaching in one-on-one settings and rounding teams; work with subspecialty services; contribute to inpatient consults; participate in subspecialty fellowship training opportunities. Manage patients across service lines including cardiovascular, oncology, ESRD, long-term antibiotic infusion, geriatric fracture, infectious disease, and post-acute care. Qualifications
MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent; eligible for state medical license. Completed Internal Medicine residency. Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine. All qualifications must be met by time of appointment. Location and Schedule
Inpatient hospitalist service; 26 weeks of clinical duties annually. Morgantown, WV area. Morgantown is within reach of Pittsburgh, DC, and Baltimore; includes multiple facilities within WVU Health System. About WVU Health System
