West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine, are seeking hospitalists for multiple full-time faculty positions (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will primarily practice in Morgantown, WV, and Fairmont, WV, with potential assignments at additional sites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, which may require travel. Responsibilities
Practice in Internal Medicine / Hospitalist Medicine. Provide excellent patient care. Engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Qualifications
MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent, eligible for medical license in the state. Completed an Internal Medicine residency program. Board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine. Additional Details
This position involves inpatient hospitalist service, with approximately 26 weeks of clinical duties annually, primarily night admissions and cross coverage. Opportunities include teaching residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers, as well as managing diverse patient populations across various specialty service lines. The WVU Health System is West Virginia's largest health system, offering extensive specialty and subspecialty care, including a multi-organ transplant center and a newly opened 150-bed Children’s Hospital. It encompasses over 2,400 beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees across multiple hospitals serving a multi-state region.
