Overview
Project Manager We need an experienced Project Manager at GAO (Government Accountability Office). GAO is an independent, legislative branch agency that assists Congress through audits, evaluations, and investigations of federal programs. The Records & Privacy (R&P) department within GAO preserves organizational knowledge and enforces recordkeeping policies and standards. In this role, you will organize and direct multi-task contract operations, serve as the senior client interface, ensure conformance with schedules and costs, maintain technical/financial reporting, delegate work, and drive successful completion of all tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize, direct, and manage contract operations involving multiple complex and interrelated tasks Maintain senior-level client interface; meet with customer and contractor personnel to review task plans and deliverables Ensure conformance with program task schedules and costs; establish and maintain technical and financial reports to show project progress Oversee execution of agency-wide records inventory and file plan activities, including staffing, scheduling, coordination with RIM Specialists and program office POCs, and alignment to retention schedules Coordinate migration, transfer, and destruction activities; ensure protection, preservation, and reliable storage and retrieval of records across share drives, systems, and applications Oversee classification and indexing efforts and enforce 100% document QA Direct records appraisal planning and stakeholder collaboration to validate retention needs and archival value per GAO and NARA guidance Lead digitization program planning and tracking (strategy document, milestones, monitoring against goals), ensure QA, and ensure meeting summaries are saved with correct metadata Ensure development and delivery of enterprise-wide and role-based information/records management training within 90 days; support Capstone Officials and bi-weekly New Employee Orientation Provide day-to-day supervision, on-site oversight, scheduling, on-the-job and periodic training, and quality control of contractor personnel Maintain availability and response SLAs during GAO core hours, acknowledging and resolving issues within required timelines
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
5+ years of experience performing program and project management support services related to federal government records management
REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in an information or business discipline – Required
