Chief Procurement Officer Hybrid #250911-7756EX-001 The State Contracting Standards Board (SCSB), an independent watchdog agency within the Office of Governmental Accountability, has an opening for a Chief Procurement Officer. This opportunity is one of two statutory positions reporting directly to the Contracting Standards Board.

Overview

The Chief Procurement Officer is a high-profile role responsible for overseeing procurement and contracting across all state contracting agencies. The position requires leadership in a dynamic environment, with the ability to shape today’s practice and the future of state procurement.

Position Highlights

Full time, 40 hours per week

Monday through Friday, first shift

Hybrid opportunity (in-office and remote work) in Hartford, CT 06105, in accordance with the Telework Policy

Responsibilities

Coordinate, plan, and manage board activities related to procurement and contracting

Formulate program goals and objectives; develop related policy

Interpret and administer applicable laws and regulations

Evaluate staff and oversee compliance with procurement standards

Administer the certification system and monitor agency compliance with statutes and regulations

Review and monitor procurement processes across state contracting agencies, quasi-public agencies, and institutions of higher education

Serve as Chairperson of the Contracting Standards Advisory Council and as Chairperson and ex-officio member of the Vendor and Citizen Advisory Panel

Draft legislation as needed; perform related duties as required
