Overview

Global Indirect Tax Automation Experienced Manager (Tax Technology) As the Tax Digital Consulting Manager, you’ll implement and build third party tax systems with major third-party ERP and billing platforms (SAP, Oracle, Workday, PeopleSoft, Great Plains), as well as custom billing systems for clients, across a wide variety of industries. You’ll collaborate with team members, practice leadership, and our diverse client base, and will play a key role in gathering requirements, design, build, and testing implementations of third-party software products and our own custom solutions to meet client needs. From day one, you’ll be empowered to participate in requirements gathering, design, build, and testing of implementations to meet client needs and help you achieve more, confidently. Responsibilities

Serve as the Project Manager on assigned third-party tax software implementations (Vertex, Avalara, Sovos, Thomson Reuters, ADP, Billsoft) and on custom software development projects Manage assigned system integration projects involving major ERP and billing systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards) Requirements analysis and design for indirect tax software implementations Manage programming for custom system interfaces and modification of preexisting interfaces Manage testing and support of assigned system go-live projects Develop and deliver key project documentation including requirements documents, design documents, and test plans Help develop and lead staff to enable them to perform core project activities Participate in sales meetings and proposal development meetings Network and develop key relationships within Grant Thornton and externally Other duties as assigned Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related technical field Must have one of the following credentials:

Project Management Professional, Six Sigma, Lean or equivalent certification Master’s degree in accounting, Tax Business Administration, Finance or Information Systems Tax Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation Equivalent accounting certification or law license in home country (e.g., Chartered Accountant)

Five years of experience with SAP/Oracle functional and/or technical experience Two years of Oracle EBS/ERP Cloud/SAP ABAP Design and Development experience Deep technical understanding of SAP or Oracle, including customization paths, table structures, and core Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay streams SAP Namespace development is a plus Experience writing documentation for ERP implementations Experience managing and developing team members for these types of implementations Experience in public accounting is a plus Strong computer skills required Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to travel as needed Compensation

The base salary ranges by location: Chicago, IL: $136,000 – $204,000 Los Angeles, CA; Bellevue, WA; New York, NY: $146,000 – $220,300 San Francisco, CA; San Jose, CA: $156,400 – $234,600 Hybrid work model with in-person attendance at least two days per week. About Us
