Director, Women’s Center

Responsibilities
Provide leadership for the Women’s Center by directing the use of resources, including student staff, department, budget, space, collaborative partnerships, and other resources Provide support, resources, and accompaniment to undergraduate and graduate students on issues related to women’s identity, and the experience of women and students with marginalized genders at Georgetown University, particularly as it relates to student formation and development Provide leadership, direction, oversight, implementation, and management of educational and outreach programs for the campus community that address individual and community needs of women students across a broad spectrum of topical realms Serve as an ambassador of the Women’s Center and the Division of Student Affairs to faculty, staff, departments, and other stakeholders on issues related to support for women students and students with marginalized genders Generate strategies to support the formation of undergraduate and graduate students
Work Interactions
The Director reports to the Associate VP for Student Affairs. The Director serves in a community of practice with other Directors of cultural centers at Georgetown University, including the Disability Cultural Center and the LGBTQ Resource Center, and works collaboratively with these colleagues to provide projects to and receive support from the Program Coordinator for Cultural Centers. Interacts with faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, and students to identify focal areas for support, programming, outreach, and leadership, and to create and sustain collaborative efforts to address issues of individual and community needs for women and students with marginalized genders at Georgetown. Consulting individually and in groups with students, faculty, staff, and alumni Advising students and offices that support student needs (e.g., Student Outreach and Support, Health Education Services, Georgetown Scholars Program) Chairing, convening, and coordinating committees and collaborative projects Strategic planning for the Center, and alignment with the University’s mission and priorities Developing, implementing, administering, and assessing programs and services Participating in initiatives to support ongoing development of cultural competency and professional skills among colleagues and peers
Requirements And Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs, Women and Gender Studies, Human Development, or a related field is required Minimum of 5 years of full-time, professional experience in a position that works on issues of women’s identity formation and community inclusion, and/or educational equity Familiarity with contemporary understanding of post-secondary student formation, development, and growth, particularly with regard to intersectional identity development Familiarity with issues likely to be of concern to women and students with marginalized genders Familiarity and facility working within a decentralized higher education organizational context Familiarity and facility working with students as an advisor, supervisor, mentor, supporter, and educator Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders on a broad range of projects Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced or terminal degree in a discipline related to women’s identity development, human development, or higher education Understanding of the mission, vision, and context of Jesuit and Catholic higher education, particularly with regard to contextual influence on the experience of women’s identity formation

This position has been designated as
Hybrid, 4:1 . The person in this role will provide primary staff coverage at the Hilltop Campus and periodic staff coverage at the Capitol Campus.
Pay Range
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $54,616.00 - $100,493.33
