Compensation : Minimum Hiring Annual Salary: $74,836.00; Maximum Hiring Annual Salary: $80,823.00. To attain the maximum, candidates must meet all minimum qualifications plus additional criteria as described in the responsibilities section. The stated salary amounts are not guaranteed if employment ends during the fiscal year. Benefits

Job Description

The role is responsible for managing and directing the Fire Science degree and certificate programs, providing strategic oversight, and ensuring the effective operation of the CPAT program. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations of the degree, certificate, and CPAT programs, equipment maintenance, deliveries to outreach locations, inventory management, state certification exams, supervising the fire training drill ground, implementing risk management policies, and assisting with faculty recruitment, interviewing, and supervision of instructors. The position also handles training, evaluating, and supervising faculty to ensure program excellence and serves as the first point of contact for employee and student grievances related to the programs, addressing concerns or escalating as needed. Program Compliance

Maintain all Fire Science and Fire Academy student and program records as required by state and college mandates. Provide direct advising for all Fire Science students. Ensure Fire Science curriculum meets State and National standards. Maintain IFSAC accreditation standards and oversee the accreditation process. Schedule and coordinate state written and practical testing for certification tests through the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (CDFPC). Verify CPAT records are maintained per IAFF licensing requirements. Maintain pass rates for CDFPC tests for publication on the program website to meet accreditation requirements. Maintain inventory control records. Networking

Recruit and market for the department by attending career fairs, organize career fairs, assist with web page management, and assist with marketing materials. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders (fire and EMS agencies, state agencies, high schools) by attending professional organizations, advisory boards, local committees, and meetings to assess training and education needs and assist with concurrent enrollment activities. Student Interaction

Provide advising for potential Fire Science degree and certificate students. Meet with potential students to review program requirements and prereqs, discuss employment opportunities, and answer questions. Provide registration overrides for Fire Science degree and certificate classes. Assist students with graduation applications. Drill Ground Oversight

Oversee the Public Safety Drill Ground. Develop and provide training to instructors and staff on proper use of equipment and props. Develop and implement risk management policies for equipment and props per industry standards. Schedule drill ground activities with internal and external stakeholders. CPAT Oversight

Provide oversight of CPAT testing processes. Supervise staff and manage budget. Management of Fire Science Degree and Certificate Programs

Develop schedules that meet college, accreditation, and state certification requirements. Provide advising for all degree-seeking Fire Science students. Place book orders. Interview, recommend for hire, and supervise FT, PT, and Assistant instructors and staff needed to run the degree and certificate programs. Evaluate instructors on performance and conduct observations of instruction. Schedule and train FT/PT lead instructors and assistant instructors as needed to meet appropriate teaching ratios per industry standards. Ensure safety standards are adhered to and implement risk management policies as needed. Other Duties as Assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor\'s Degree in Fire Science or another related field; plus four (4) years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. At least one (1) year must be supervisory or demonstrated leadership experience. Must be willing to use a company vehicle for business travel; pass an MVR and be insurable under Aims insurance. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to form and maintain positive relationships with external partners. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Required Documents
