Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT) is seeking to appoint a Specialty Doctor in support of the existing Dermatology Services providing clinical care of inpatient and outpatient patients under consultant supervision. The specialty has strong links with Leeds and the post holder will attend the weekly MDT and there are potential opportunities for training placements in the tertiary treatment centre. The successful applicant will work within CHFT providing clinical services to the population of Calderdale and Huddersfield The Dermatology service currently has over 5000 2ww Outpatient attendances per annum for the diagnosis and treatment of potential skin cancer. Outpatient clinics are run from both sites with an inpatient inreach service run across Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital. Main duties of the job
Support Consultants in the outpatient department, seeing new patients, patients on follow up and the delivery of minor operation procedures, all under consultant supervision. As the post holder develops, review of opportunities for independent working will be undertaken. To see patients presenting acutely in Huddersfield and Calderdale with complications of disease or of treatment The post holder will be expected to take significant responsibility for supervision and management of inpatient referrals, under consultant supervision. The appointee will be expected to be able to undertake all medical duties, assessing of ill patients, management of medical problems and liaison with relatives and other medical departments. The duties are outlined in the timetable below. Your duties will include continuing clinical responsibility to the named consultants to whom you are responsible and the duties they will delegate to you shall be such as are consistent with your seniority and specialisation as a practitioner in this grade. Qualifications
MRCP or equivalent Applicants must have Full Registration with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practise Experience and Achievements
Must have 4 years post graduate experience including 2 years within the Dermatology Specialty Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in all aspects of the Dermatology specialty Understanding current issues within Dermatology and the future direction of the specialty Understanding current issues within the wider NHS Attendance at a recognised management course Shows ability to work with and lead others across professions Teaching and Training
Experience of and enthusiasm for clinical teaching of postgraduate doctors and non-medical staff. Academic achievements/evidence of familiarity with research methods which have resulted in publications Training in clinical and educational supervision Attendance at a teaching course Formal qualification in teaching/education Audit and Research
Knowledge of Audit principles and evidence of participation in and completion of audit projects Critical Appraisal Skills Evidence of knowledge of research methodology Good communication and empathy skills with patients Evidence of willingness to participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment to provide an integrated service Ability to work as a member of a team, both through communication and sharing workload Ability to manage high pressure situations e.g. clinical crisis Ability to prioritise and organise workload and co-ordinate staff Ability to integrate the care of a patient by many and various other clinical staff Willingness to work flexibly to deliver clinically effective and cost effective healthcare Practical/Intellectual Skills/Personal Qualities

Eligibility to work in the UK Ability to work in various locations throughout the network of services provided by Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust For areas requiring EPP Clearance (Exposure Prone Procedures), this will also be a requirement of the health screening An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required with the Disclosure and Barring Service Disclosure and Barring Service Check
