Overview
The primary role of the Pilot in Command (PIC) at Cornerstone Building Brands is to provide safe and efficient air transportation. Responsibilities include weather briefings, fuel planning, filing flight plans, transportation logistics and ensuring the safety of all passengers and crew. This role supports the company by enabling efficient transportation of key decision makers conducting critical business.
Responsibilities
Ensure the safe and efficient conduct of assigned flights
Operate in accordance with the company Aviation Operations Manual, CFRs and company policies
Participate in the Aviation Department’s Safety Management System
Ensure aircraft is airworthy and all required documentation is onboard
Check weather NOTAMs where available and perform preflight inspections before departures
Utilize established Crew Resource Management (CRM) skills
Maintain knowledge of duties and responsibilities of the Pilot-in-Command (PIC)
Determine aircraft weight and balance; ensure databases are current; meet flight planning requirements
Assume PIC duties in the event of PIC incapacitation
Fulfill additional duties as delegated by the Chief Pilot to promote professional development
Promote high standards of personal appearance, dress and conduct in performance of job responsibilities
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
5,000 hours of total flight time; 2,000 hours multi-engine; 1,000 hours turbojet
Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate; insurance carrier underwriting approval
Second Class Medical or higher
Valid passport
Strong communication and teamwork skills; situational and system awareness
Quick thinking and decisiveness; ability to multitask
Professional experience working with C-Suite Executives
Typed in Cessna Sovereign CE680 aircraft highly desired; charter jet experience a plus
Willingness to reside within 1 hour’s drive of Raleigh, NC
