Job Description The primary role of the Pilot in Command (PIC) at Cornerstone Building Brands is to provide safe and efficient air transportation. Operational guidelines are outlined in the company’s Aviation Operations Manual, and this candidate must comply with mandatory FAA rules and regulations. Responsibilities include weather briefings, fuel planning, filing of flight plans, transportation logistics and ensuring the safety of all passengers and crew. This role is critical to Cornerstone Building Brands as it enables efficient transportation of key decision makers conducting critical company business.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure the safe and efficient conduct of assigned flights

Ensure that flight operations are conducted in accordance with the CBB Aviation Operations Manual, CFRs and company policies

Participates in the Aviation Department’s Safety Management System

Ensure the aircraft is airworthy and all required documentation is onboard

Check weather NOTAMs where available. Complete an aircraft preflight inspection before each departure

Utilize established Crew Resource Management (CRM) skills

Maintain a working knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of the Pilot-in-Command (PIC)

Determine the aircraft weight and balance

Ensure databases are current and all flight planning requirements have been met

Assume PIC duties, including control of the flight, in the event of PIC incapacitation

Additional duties may be delegated by the Chief Pilot to promote professional development and growth into the captain’s role

Lead in all aspects of personal appearance, dress and conduct to achieve high standards in performance of job responsibilities

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required

5,000 hours of total flight time, 2,000 hours of multi-engine, 1,000 hours of turbojet

Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate and subject to insurance carrier underwriting approval

Second Class Medical required at a minimum

Must have a valid passport

Clear communication and teamwork skills

Situational Awareness

System Awareness

Quick thinking skills and decisiveness

Strong focus and multitasking ability

Professionalism and experience working with C-Suite Executives

Typed in Cessna Sovereign CE680 aircraft highly desired

Charter jet experience a plus

Must be willing to reside within 1 hour's drive of Raleigh, NC
