As Controller reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller serves as a key financial leader, overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and strategic financial initiatives. This role ensures financial stability and transparency by managing, budgeting, nonprofit and property accounting, and the design and execution of internal controls, while providing essential financial insights to support organizational growth and decision-making. Base pay range
$145,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver timely, accurate, and compliant financial reports. Lead and manage monthly and annual financial close processes. Oversee audits, tax filings, and grant/fund accounting. Manage relationships with external auditors and accounting firms. Develop and implement internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting systems. Ensure expenditures align with program and grant budgets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial operations with organizational strategy. Supervise, mentor, and grow the accounting team. Lead development of financial training and project management frameworks. Experience / Qualifications
10 years of experience in nonprofit or public accounting and finance supervising a team. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred; MBA or MAcc a plus. Experience with GAAP compliance, Sage Intacct or similar ERP. Property management and real estate development accounting a plus.
