Overview
Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our award-winning Special Education team. This role offers a starting salary of $85,000–$120,000 per year plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Environment: Special Education Program, Grades K-12. Responsibilities
Evaluate students’ communication strengths and needs to design and implement individualized, evidence-based speech therapy programs aligned with goals developed with educators and families.
Monitor student progress using data-driven methods and provide updates reflecting goals, preferences, and developmental milestones.
Apply age-appropriate therapy techniques to strengthen speech, language, cognitive, and memory skills within naturalistic environments tailored to each child.
Write comprehensive progress reports and adapt therapy services to optimize outcomes; maintain documentation accurately.
Maintain case records and ensure compliance with agency policies and state regulations; review and update documentation as needed.
Submit session notes and billing documentation within 24 hours of client interactions.
Engage with families to coordinate schedules, address challenges, and facilitate make-up sessions as needed.
Share practical strategies with parents and service providers to support carryover of goals into home and school routines.
Conduct clinical assessments, recommend treatment plans, and manage implementation to uphold high standards of care.
Oversee intake processes and ongoing evaluation of therapy plans and progress toward clinical indicators.
Contribute to clinical service quality through staff trainings, dissemination of best practices, and mentoring.
Collaborate with clients and families to build strong therapeutic relationships and support long-term communication success.
Provide clinical guidance and supervision in home and community-based settings to ensure program fidelity.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to support integrated care planning.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support overall clinical service delivery.
Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or a closely related field.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a speech language pathology (SLP) credential.
Valid CA driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
Experience providing speech language therapy in educational and/or behavioral health settings; knowledge of special education and compliance, particularly for students with diverse needs.
Proven ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans and to engage students, families, and educators.
Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency with relevant technology, Microsoft Office, and basic office equipment.
