Full-time, Exempt Hearts & Hammers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing exterior home repairs and maintenance at no cost to low-income seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. Through the power of volunteers, sponsors, and community partners, we help homeowners live safely, independently, and with dignity. Position Overview
The Program Director is responsible for overseeing and coordinating Hearts & Hammers’ home repair programs in Dallas. This role involves managing project logistics, coordinating with homeowners and volunteers, and ensuring all program goals are met with excellence. The Program Director will be a community connector, problem-solver, and detail-oriented leader who ensures that every home repair project is carried out safely, efficiently, and in alignment with our mission. Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination Manage all aspects of program delivery, including project scheduling, homeowner communication, and volunteer coordination. Oversee home repair project logistics from initial application through project completion. Conduct site visits and assessments to determine repair needs and scope of work. Partner and Volunteer Engagement Recruit and support corporate sponsorships, and partner with community volunteer groups, to accomplish program days. Maintain relationships with corporate sponsors, community partners, and contractors. Represent Hearts & Hammers at community events, outreach activities, and partner meetings. Engage in networking events to grow the partner base. Homeowner Relations Serve as the point of contact for homeowners throughout the repair process. Ensure eligibility requirements are met and that projects are executed with respect and care. Collect homeowner feedback and success stories for impact reporting. Operations & Administration Track budgets, program data, and project outcomes. Prepare program reports for the Executive Director, Board, and funders. Support grant proposals, capacity-building initiatives, and strategic planning efforts. Plan and execute fundraising efforts, including two events per year. Qualifications
Experience in nonprofit management, social work, construction management, event planning, or related fields. Familiarity with home repair, construction, or volunteer management is a plus 2-4 years of experience in nonprofit program management, volunteer coordination, and community development. Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. Comfortable working with diverse populations, including seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for program events. Compensation & Benefits
Salary $65,000-$70,000 per year IRA retirement account with 3% employer match Health and phone benefit stipend 15 paid vacation days, 6 paid personal days, 10 paid national holidays Mileage reimbursement Hybrid work environment A mission-driven workplace with a collaborative and supportive culture.
