Corporate Affairs HR Communications Manager

The position leads enterprise-wide HR communications strategy and works with senior HR leaders to connect 43,000+ employees to Chevron\'s people strategy and HR function. The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and expertise in strategic communications, employee engagement, media relations, crisis management, digital communications, and event management. Responsibilities
Own the development and execution of an HR communications strategy aligned to the enterprise people strategy. Lead the annual integrated communications plan to drive awareness and engagement with HR priorities; direct internal and external communications for HR. Provide strategic communications counsel to the CHRO and HR Leadership Team in partnership with CHRO Communications Advisor. Align with the broader Communications team to ensure a cohesive approach to HR messaging. Oversee communication vehicles and key messages to inform and engage the workforce on HR strategies and programs. Establish and measure an overarching HR communications metric strategy; share insights with the HR Leadership Team. Monitor team performance and drive improvements; coordinate communications across segments and functions. Relationship Management / Stakeholder Engagement
Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across HR and Corporate Affairs; act as a trusted advisor to CHRO and HRLT. Provide strategic counsel and oversight for critical HR communications projects; occasionally handle sensitive or confidential materials. Participate actively in the Communications LT and HRLT; promote One Team mindset across the enterprise. Collaborate with enterprise communications colleagues to reinforce HR and people strategy messaging. Management and Coaching
Lead and manage ~10 direct reports and ~5 contractors; establish clear direction and service levels. Assess operating model and drive changes to meet expectations; promote consistency and knowledge management across the team. Foster a change leadership mindset; optimize for an agile and innovative HR Communications team. Oversee employee experience and resources; manage budget and agency relationships; coach team on complex requests. Ensure high-quality content for diverse audiences (leader letters, talking points, presentations, web content, town halls, social posts). Requirements
10+ years of experience in employee/HR communications within a large global organization. 10+ years in a leadership role directing a team of 5+ FTEs. Bachelor\'s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, business administration or related field. Ability to build positive relationships with senior leaders in HR and Corporate Affairs; effective coaching and advisory skills. Proven supervisory capability and experience; ability to lead strategic direction and build a high-performing team. Strong program/project leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills. Proactive, independent work style in a fast-paced environment; ability to manage interdependencies and priorities. Strong data-driven mindset; ability to measure impact and drive innovation in communications. Preferred Qualifications
Master\'s degree. Experience managing third-party resources or vendors. Relocation & Work Arrangements
