Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Telemetry RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Redwood City, California. One year of recent experience as a Telemetry RN Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC) Current ACLS Certification Preferred Qualifications
Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification NIHSS certification Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Summary
The Telemetry Registered Nurse is accountable for providing comprehensive patient care in a telemetry unit, focusing on continuous cardiac monitoring and assessment. This role includes evaluating patient health, implementing care plans, administering treatments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered cardiac care. Strong clinical telemetry skills, critical thinking, excellent communication, and a commitment to patient safety and professional ethics are required. Essential Work Functions
Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data; responds to abnormalities Administers prescribed medications and treatments focused on cardiac care Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac-related procedures and examinations Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients Observes patients, records significant conditions, and notifies supervisor or physician of status and response Responds to life-saving situations per nursing standards and cardiac protocols Documents nursing history and physical assessments for assigned telemetry patients Initiates patient education plans focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle changes Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care Maintains confidentiality of patients and client information Performs other duties within the scope of practice Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication English language proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; PC literacy Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment, push/pull, and bend Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and use department equipment Mental requirements to handle deadlines, irregular shifts, and detail orientation Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication abilities Benefits Include
