We are seeking a compassionate general adult psychiatrist to join a diverse and dedicated team. You will contribute to outstanding healthcare within a culture of collaboration and mutual respect. You will apply your expertise across a wide range of situations to impact patient care, particularly in our 12-bed general adult inpatient unit. Responsibilities include consultations across medical and surgical units, the emergency department, and nurturing a community-based practice. Your work will involve comprehensive assessments and tailored treatment plans, forming the foundation of our mission. You will collaborate with the team to develop, evaluate, and refine psychiatric programs, policies, and procedures. Our commitment to excellence includes innovative outreach and telehealth services to meet diverse community needs. We also partner with UBC’s medical school and the family medicine residency to educate and mentor future clinicians. STEP IN, STAND OUT: MAKE A DIFFERENCE AS A LOCUM The Rural Specialist Locum Program (RSLP) provides coverage for travel and accommodations according to program guidelines. Depending on journey length, physicians may earn up to $1,560 for travel time costs. Reasonable transportation and lodging expenses are reimbursed per current policy terms. Request Info Terms Compensation Compensation Type: Combination; Estimated remuneration as a general adult psychiatrist in Trail: $350,000–$550,000, supported by fee-for-service, sessional contracts, and MOCAP level 2. Physician overhead is a consideration for those launching private practice. Benefits and Incentives Vacation leave and flexible scheduling; may be eligible for RSA incentives including: Retention Premium 11.48% Retention Flat Fee $17,790 Relocation Funding: $9,000 within BC, $12,000 within Canada, $15,000 from outside Canada Recruitment Incentive $15,000 (prorated for part-time) RCME-related benefits: $600 for up to 2 years in Trail, $3,600 during the 3rd and 4th year, and $6,600 after 4 years, plus Doctors of BC CME funds. Rural incentives are subject to change per current rates.
