Overview

This role is with Boeing. WayUp is partnering with Boeing to hire top talent. The Boeing Defense, Space & Security team is seeking Systems Engineers (Entry-level, Associate or Experienced) to join the Space and Launch Engineering team in El Segundo, California, to design and develop state-of-the-art space-based communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security programs. You will be part of a highly-motivated team that works with domestic and international customers on the latest satellite systems. Project assignments typically span the unit life cycle, from internal trades and concept studies to system definition, satellite unit development and test. You will belong to a systems engineering team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test engineers, and senior technologists. Responsibilities

Design and develop next generation RF, digital, and optical satellite communication systems. Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures. Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces in the development of communication digital payloads. Develop performance and link budgets. Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models. Assist with conducting trade studies. Develop prototype demonstrations on flight-like communication subsystem testbeds. Support unit-level integration and performance simulations. Support ASIC and FPGA level system design and verification. Support hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell-offs. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. Entry Level (Level 1): Bachelor or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. Associates Level (Level 2): typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. Experienced Level (Level 3): typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. Education or experience in signal processing. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a similar degree with focus on signal processing or algorithm development. Master’s degree in signal processing or algorithm development or a related focus. Development of algorithms for hardware implementation on ASICs or FPGAs. Digital Signal Processing coursework, projects, or work experience. Experience with Simulink; Python, C++, or other programming languages. Substantive involvement and/or leadership in group-oriented project work. Verification planning and application of theoretical knowledge to real-world problems. Additional Information

Due to security requirements, this position is expected to be fully onsite in El Segundo, CA. This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active. Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
