Purpose The purpose of the Senior Director | Patient Engagement - Data Strategy is to work cross functionally to enable excellence in clinical design. This role requires a strategic approach with a broad set of responsibilities to inform asset profile, program strategy and trial designs, with an agile mindset driving efficiencies and shared learning. This role is responsible for building and sustaining relationships, both internally and externally, across business partners and data and technology vendors, to further optimize the way data and analytics supports and informs the Clinical Portfolio. Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Provide strategic direction for Patient Engagements data ownership and utilization, ensuring that capabilities are well integrated and leveraged across Clinical Capabilities and the entire organization with continual evolution of tools and best practices Identify, evaluate, prioritize, and deliver to evolving business partner needs, influencing senior leadership decisions leading to process improvements, standardization, or automation of support Lead large cross functional teams supporting high impact, complex projects (e.g. Design Studio) that have a significant value proposition and investment to achieve long-term business goals Drive Patient Engagement’s adoption of novel tools and technologies to increase quality, and efficiency
Data Network Development & Expert Collaboration
Develop and maintain a comprehensive network of Pan-Company Data experts across all therapeutic areas and functional domains Establish formal and informal channels for data expertise sharing, collaboration, data democratization, and knowledge transfer across the organization Create frameworks for identifying, engaging, and demonstrating internal data specialists to support clinical trial design optimization Foster cross-functional data communities of practice to drive standardization and best practice adoption
Patient Engagement & Organizational Metrics
Ownership for measurement and reporting on key performance indicators (benchmarks) for patient recruitment, retention, satisfaction, and overall trial experience Design & develop measurement systems and targets to evaluate the impact of patient engagement strategies on trial outcomes and timelines – internally and pan-pharma Serve as steward of the patient engagement technology agenda, ensuring alignment between technological capabilities and patient-centric trial design objectives Oversee the strategic roadmap for patient engagement technology investments, including digital tools, platforms, and innovative solutions that enhance patient experience
Proactive Data Insight Generation
Develop systematic generation of proactive data insights to anticipate clinical development challenges and opportunities Implement predictive analytics capabilities to identify trends, patterns, and optimization opportunities before they impact trial execution Establish automated reporting and alert systems that provide early warning indicators for trial performance and patient engagement Create frameworks for translating data insights into actionable recommendations for clinical trial design improvements
Professional Development & Mentorship
Supply to the development of others by being an active leader, coach, and mentor both in and outside the CDDA Foster a culture of continual learning and shared knowledge exchange across data and clinical design functions Provide guidance and career development support to team members and cross-functional partners Champion professional growth opportunities and facilitate skill development in emerging data analytics and clinical design methodologies
Clinical Program Design & Innovation Opportunities
Own external relationships with innovation leaders to understand the overall direction of the clinical development innovation and influence leaders internally Anticipate and solve for customer needs with innovative solutions Demonstrate high learning agility with an external focus, strong problem-solving skills, and self-motivated to achieve high quality results in a fast-paced environment Research, identify, and secure data partners and sources to support portfolio needs Champion cross-functional partnerships and identify and demonstrate internal experts to understand patient pathways, treatment patterns, and other data to support excellence in clinical trial design Serve as an expert in integrated clinical development both within and external to the CDDA
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in a scientific or health related field 7+ years of experience in drug development in the pharmaceutical industry

Post-graduate degree(s), e.g., Pharm D, M.S., Ph.D., M.B.A Demonstrated ability to integrate different functional or organizational components into a streamlined and efficient structure Strong leadership and critical thinking skills Demonstrated experience with implementation of innovative solutions Prior experience in managing complex/cross-functional projects and teams Ability to take strategic knowledge and effectively influence the direction of daily operations
