The Senior Director, Patient Engagement Content Optimization is accountable for developing and executing content strategies that elevate Lilly’s leadership in patient engagement across clinical trial design and delivery. They will actively engage with internal and external partners to maximize Lilly’s engagement with patients, caregivers, and trusted community partners to amplify inclusive and accessible clinical trials. The Senior Director will collaborate with Clinical Capabilities, the Global Customer Office, and Business Areas to ensure deliverables reflect Lilly’s commitment to inclusive, accessible, and meaningful patient experiences. They will lead the development and stewardship of core messaging used by CDDA senior leaders and designated staff at key industry, public, and internal events, and will explore innovative approaches to deepen engagement with patients, caregivers, and trusted community partners. Develop and lead content strategy that outlines clear objectives and activities across multiple workstreams impacting the patient journey, including community engagement, community-based trial design and delivery, and the broader clinical trials publications strategy for stakeholders across Clinical Capabilities. Forecast and manage budgets for major initiatives, aligning resource allocation with long-term strategic goals across Patient Engagement and the broader Clinical Capabilities organization. Create and leverage clinical trial messaging to support speaking opportunities including industry, patient, and community forums for the Clinical leadership team. Collaborate with Global Communications to drive timely and targeted content delivery for the Patient Engagement team in alignment with the broader Clinical Capabilities organization. Influence senior leadership and external partners, including professional and advocacy groups and patient organizations, to shape strategic decisions and drive innovation in patient experience. Utilize messaging performance data and audience analytics to inform and adjust content strategies and implementation for greater impact, reach, and resonance. Shape internal and external content to position Lilly as a key voice in clinical trial innovation and patient engagement. People Management and Partnership

Support organizational change management and drive shared learning across the enterprise to ensure clear communication of updates to approved content or cross-industry learnings. Integrate with enterprise teams such as Global Communications, Global Customer Office, and Business Areas to share updates across Clinical Capabilities. Manage and work with vendor(s) in partnership with Digital and Community Engagement to improve strategy and execution of appropriate tactics. Develop and manage strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, proactively identifying opportunities for growth and innovation in Patient Engagement and across Clinical Capabilities. Minimum Qualification Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or related field. Minimum of 8-10 years of communications experience in a global, matrixed organization. Agency Management – manage public relations vendor(s) to assist in analysis and execution of communications strategies as needed. Clinical Trial or Health Care Delivery Experience – direct experience supporting communications to key audiences effectively. Travel – 10% or less, based on business need and patient engagement. Learn more about all of our groups. Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $151,500 - $222,200. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
