The firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team in Chicago. This high-priority role will provide accounting leadership for residential and construction-related investments, with particular exposure to build-to-rent communities. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and make a visible impact within a growing and agile platform. This is a standout opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional with sector-specific experience who is motivated to grow in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities
Oversee accounting for residential and build-to-rent projects, including construction-related investments Manage general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close Track project costs, budgets, and cash flow to support development managers Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners Support senior leadership with reporting, forecasting, and investor presentations Implement and enhance accounting systems, controls, and processes Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred 5+ years of accounting experience within homebuilding, construction, or build-to-rent sectors Strong technical accounting skills and proficiency with real estate accounting software (Yardi, Sage, Timberline, or similar) Experience managing project-level budgets and cost reporting Excellent organizational and communication skills Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting If you’re looking to contribute to the success of an ambitious and expanding investment platform, we’d love to hear from you.
