Staff Electromechanical Product Design Engineer, Optimus The Tesla Robotics Team designs and builds humanoid bi-pedal robots (Optimus) to perform tasks that are boring, repetitive, and dangerous for humans. The team integrates mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and manufacturing engineering disciplines in a highly-collaborative environment. What You'll Do

Lead high-visibility, cross-functional projects for mechanical design and packaging of components to meet product and system level requirements while optimizing for product attributes Develop novel power and communication distribution, endpoint consolidation, manufacturability improvement, and robust solutions for iterative changes Have design responsibility for diverse products, including wire harnesses, jumpers, busbars, plastic/metal component design, integration in enclosures, and electronic component packaging Have engineering responsibility across all stages of product development, collaborating with suppliers, Tesla SIE\'s/GSM\'s, overseeing prototyping, and managing RC, Beta, and Pilot builds What You'll Bring

2-4+ years of relevant experience Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics degree preferred Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication methods for low- and high-volume Analytical background for successful design (tolerance stack-ups, solid mechanics, thermal, cost and mass optimization) Passion for electro-mechanical product design and finding simpler solutions to meet requirements Ability to present data/trade-offs to facilitate decision-making Experience taking projects from concept to production CAD experience, 2D and 3D (Catia preferred) Understanding of analog and digital circuits (MOSFETs, op-amps, switching regulators, gate drivers, microcontrollers, SPI, I2C, power dissipation, etc.) preferred Experience with FFC\'s, FPC\'s, and rigid-flex technologies preferred Benefits & Compensation

Expected Compensation: $112,000 - $198,000 annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on location, knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may include other elements. Details will be provided if an offer is extended.
