Provide counsel on actual and threatened civil litigation where the Firm is a party, and on regulatory or government investigations or subpoenas where the Firm is involved or not involved as appropriate Represent KPMG and its professionals in civil litigation proceedings and regulatory investigations; advise Firm leaders on issues arising in those proceedings Develop, implement and manage strategies to defend litigation claims and regulatory investigations and bring them to a cost-effective resolution Supervise and collaborate with outside counsel and other OGC members to deliver high-quality legal representation Report to and consult with senior legal leadership on issues arising in litigation and regulatory matters Develop financial projections and ensure cost-effective management of matters Qualifications
Minimum fifteen years of experience handling complex civil litigation and regulatory investigations in well-regarded law firms, in-house legal departments, or at regulatory agencies (SEC, PCAOB, DOJ) with preferred experience involving accounting and auditing issues JD or LLM from an accredited law school; licensed to practice in the U.S., including in the state where the office is located Ability to manage multiple litigations and investigations concurrently, meet deadlines, and work with high ethical standards Strong analytical, writing, oral advocacy, interpersonal, and client counseling skills; C-Suite presence Demonstrated experience leading legal teams; experience managing outside counsel is a plus Proven collaboration skills and ability to build strong business partnerships across functions and stakeholders KPMG complies with all local/state regulations regarding salary ranges.
