The Periodic Labs team is developing AI that can both simulate science as well as verify its predictions to train on the full scientific method. As part of this mission, the team is building a high throughput experimental materials science lab. For this facility, we are seeking an experienced

Production Controls Manager

to manage the full life cycle of our materials labs, from critical lab raw material inputs to safe and efficient handling of waste streams. You’ll build out supply chain systems to ensure uninterrupted operation of our high-throughput platforms and coordinate with third-party vendors and supporting contractors (such as toxic substance disposal). Responsibilities

Track and manage inventory for gases, chemicals, and consumables using a scalable, robust automated system you propose and integrate Build procurement pipelines with vendors and manage supplier performance. Forecast material needs and ERP based on throughput projections and experimental planning. Coordinate hazardous waste pickups, documentation, and disposal in compliance with regulations. Implement systems for just-in-time inventory and critical spares. Work with EH&S to ensure compliance with chemical handling, labeling, and storage rules. Qualifications

4 years of experience in production planning, lab supply chain, or chemical operations. Familiarity with lab inventory systems, MSDS, and regulatory guidelines (EPA, DOT, RCRA). Strong organizational and vendor negotiation skills. Prior experience managing TSDF coordination Ability to forecast, track usage, and adapt to variable demand in a scientific environment. Demonstrated understanding of industry standards for best practices and record of contributing to the advancement and definition of your field (e.g. APICS/ASCM, NFPA 400 or other relevant technical committees) Accomplishments recognized in your field
