Overview

Senior Principal Scientist, R&D – Product Development

is a Research and Development Bakery Technology role leading Product Development initiatives within the Snacking Team. The role supports multiple businesses across Snacking product lines (Lunchables, Oscar Mayer Bites, and P3) for the North America Zone. The Senior Principal Scientist provides leadership for and execution of projects across categories, with a proven record of driving results in challenging settings. The role operates in a dynamic, cross-functional environment and requires managing multiple projects concurrently with minimal guidance. A collaborative mindset and innovative solutions are essential. Key Responsibilities

Lead product development as the primary developer to drive execution across multiple projects within cross-functional teams. Demonstrate willingness and ability to learn new product categories and processing areas. Translate research findings and communicate them to cross-functional teams. Manage and execute product testing and qualification with cross-functional team members in laboratory and production environments. Manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize conflicts between various business initiatives. Mentor, coach, and collaborate with colleagues within and outside of the immediate team. Additional Responsibilities

Plan and execute design of experiments (DoE), anticipate next steps, and adjust course when hurdles appear. Demonstrate excellent communication, influencing, project management, and problem-solving skills. Lead, coach, and motivate others; maintain high motivation and ability to multi-task complex projects. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s is a Plus) in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related fields. Minimum 8+ years of Product Development experience within a CPG or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years in Bakery experience. Strong understanding of ingredients, processing equipment, ingredient interactions, and food product laboratory test methods. Executional excellence, personal leadership, and customer focus. Self-motivated problem solver with the drive to deliver objectives in a complex environment. Ability to plan, design experiments, anticipate next steps, and course-correct when needed. Excellent communication, influencing, project management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead, coach, and motivate others. Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task across complex projects. Willingness to travel about 30%, including travel within the United States and Canada to internal plants, co-manufacturers, and suppliers. Location

New Hire Base Salary Range: $118,400.00 - $148,000.00. Bonus eligibility and compensation may vary by geographic region and candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience.
