Overview
Program Manager, School of Public Health, Health Policy & Management Location: Boston, MA. This position is full-time/regular and fully remote. The Program Manager will lead administrative, budget, and personnel management activities across a portfolio of research, evaluation, and quality improvement projects at Boston University School of Public Health funded by the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Projects focus on how health care policies and health care delivery models impact quality of care, access to care, and cost of care for low-income or disabled veterans, typically using large datasets. The Project Manager will work with multidisciplinary project teams made up of health economists, health services researchers, data analysts, and policy analysts from Boston University, Harvard University, and the VA, all affiliated with the Partnered Evidence-based Policy Resource Center (PEPReC). Responsibilities
Lead administrative, budget, and personnel management activities across a portfolio of VA-funded research, evaluation, and quality improvement projects. Coordinate project activities with multidisciplinary teams. Support project setup, monitoring, and delivery within established timelines and budgets. Engage with stakeholders to align project goals with policy and operational needs. Qualifications
5-7 years of related experience. Experience managing research and evaluation projects. Experience in a health- or health policy-focused department, organization, or setting. Knowledge of IRB, HR, contracting, and budgeting processes and requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively in teams. Ability to balance multiple tasks and manage time efficiently. Master’s degree (MPH, MBA, MHA, or equivalent) in management, health care management or administration, health policy, or related field. Experience working with health care leadership. Knowledge of grant application processes and grant management requirements.
