Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Valuations Analyst to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small firm environment and is passionate about providing accurate and insightful valuations for tax planning, estate and gift tax reporting, and business advisory services.
Responsibilities
Conduct valuations of closely held businesses, investment entities, and other assets for tax and financial reporting purposes.
Prepare valuation reports in compliance with IRS guidelines and industry standards (e.g., AICPA, USPAP).
Analyze financial statements, market data, and industry trends to support valuation conclusions.
Collaborate with tax professionals to integrate valuation findings into client strategies.
Assist in audit defense and respond to IRS inquiries related to valuation matters.
Maintain organized documentation and support files for all valuation engagements.
Stay current on valuation methodologies, tax regulations, and industry developments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA or ASA designation preferred.
2+ years of experience in business valuation, preferably in a public accounting or consulting environment.
Strong understanding of valuation approaches (income, market, asset-based).
Proficiency in Excel and valuation software; experience with CCH Axcess is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
