Victaulic
About Us
Victaulic has led the industry since 1919 and continues to grow its outside sales team. We are a global leader in mechanical pipe joining innovations with a strong, trained sales force. Our sales representatives are on the road daily, meeting customers, visiting job sites, and building relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project success. Our team emphasizes teamwork, problem solving, mechanical aptitude, and effective communication with a diverse customer base. In this outside sales role, you will: Become the Expert
Learn the Products
— Learn Victaulic ontology, products, and the ways we provide solutions to help customers complete projects on time and within budget. There is an extensive training program. Know the Industry
— Training covers grooved mechanical pipe joining methods and competitive alternatives such as welding and flanging. You will learn to overcome objections from customers accustomed to traditional methods. As a territory manager, you’ll also understand construction cycles, identify major projects, and stay current with market trends and competitor activity. You will engage with local trade organizations and professional associations to become part of the territory’s industry fabric. Understand the Business
You will work with your Regional Sales Manager to develop a business plan, including opportunity mapping, sales goals, product promotion plans, and strategies to maximize sales potential. You’ll oversee all phases of project pursuit and management to secure a purchase order—from inception through design, specifications, bidding, job-site training and support, final commissioning, and after-sale follow-up. You’ll gather complete information for quotations (application, specifications, pricing, timing) and lead the inside sales team, engineering, and other support staff to meet customer requirements. Build Strong Relationships
Developing relationships and trust with mechanical contractors, engineers, and building/project owners is essential. You may spend time with customers beyond normal business hours for dinners, sporting events, and other social activities. You will also partner with Victaulic distributors in your territory and coordinate with other Victaulic representatives and regional market specialists to ensure the best customer experience. Educate and Influence
You will learn customer needs and educate them on the value Victaulic brings to their project. Senior roles may involve job-site interactions and presentations to engineers, as you demonstrate the benefits and value of our products. Your goal is to educate customers and influence decision-makers to maximize sales potential. Qualities We Seek
We value lifelong learning and offer tuition reimbursement. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Prior sales experience selling value-added products/services, especially in commercial construction, PVF (pipes, valves, fittings), or mechanical products, is beneficial. Demonstrated sales achievements and a track record of building long-standing relationships are advantageous. A competitive mindset, flexibility, resiliency, self-motivation, professionalism, and effective communication are important. Strong problem-solving, resourcefulness, organizational, time management, and project management skills are helpful. Some territories require heavier overnight travel. You should be prepared for field conditions and physically handle equipment up to 50+ pounds. Benefits
Benefits include a company vehicle, laptop, iPhone, corporate credit card, and a maintenance card. Health and welfare benefits, 401(k), life insurance, disability, parental leave, tuition assistance, and retiree benefits are available. See the Benefits-at-a-Glance for a complete list. Salary
The salary range is typically between $80,000 and $110,000 annually. Top end may be exceeded based on qualifications and experience. This role also offers uncapped, variable compensation in addition to base salary. Victaulic is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and welcomes all qualified applicants. We provide fair consideration without regard to race, gender, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic data, or other legally protected status. Background checks are part of our pre-employment process. Staffing and Communications Policy
