As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced In-House Corporate Counsel to provide legal guidance and ensure compliance across our operations. Position Summary
The In-House Corporate Counsel will be a key legal advisor to Continental Express, supporting internal departments with legal expertise in litigation management, employment law, regulatory compliance, safety and contract review. The ideal candidate will bring practical legal knowledge and strong problem-solving skills to a fast-paced, transportation-focused environment. Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage legal matters, including litigation, disputes, and coordination with outside counsel. Advise Human Resources and leadership on employment-related issues such as hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, and workplace investigations. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, providing counseling on legal issues and recommending effective strategies and tactics for risk mitigation and legal compliance. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including service agreements, customer contracts, and transportation-related agreements. Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry-specific regulations (including FMCSA, DOT, OSHA). Assist with developing company policies and internal procedures to reduce legal risk. Stay current on relevant legal developments impacting the trucking and logistics industry. Demonstrate a professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor, fostering strong working relationships across teams. Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Ohio. Strong background in litigation, employment law, and regulatory compliance. Experience reviewing and negotiating contracts. Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Must be able to commute daily to the office. This is NOT a remote position. What We Offer
