Staff Product Manager - IoT Software (Linux) | Onsite in Boston, MA This range is provided by Vaco by Highspring. Base pay range Base pay range: $210,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr Must Have: Experience with Linux software and lower-level kernel development Contributions to open-source projects (e.g., Debian, Fedora, Ubuntu) End-to-end product ownership experience in embedded systems and Open Source exp Responsibilities
Develop product strategy and roadmap based on customer needs and market analysis. Identify ecosystem gaps and recommend solutions to influence product direction. Define and manage the software roadmap across IoT business segments. Product Lifecycle Management
Oversee product lifecycle from definition to release. Deliver technical presentations and proposals to customers. Integrate customer feedback into product planning. Software Architecture & Development
Define scalable software architecture for Linux-based IoT applications. Expertise in RT kernels, industrial safety protocols, and RTOS is a plus. Lead Linux software upstreaming strategy and ensure compliance with open-source frameworks. Cross-Functional Leadership
Ensure cross-functional collaboration and milestone completion. Drive third-party developer ecosystems and software reuse strategies. Optimize engineering execution and go-to-market strategies. Communication & Influence
Communicate complex information to diverse audiences. Influence organizational decisions and contribute to high-level strategy. Represent the company at conferences and customer engagements. Innovate new ideas and develop products without predefined parameters. Manage multiple projects while maintaining focus on key priorities. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Humanities, or related field. 5+ years of product management or related experience. Advanced degree (Engineering, Computer Science, or MBA). Roadmap strategy and feature delivery. Open-source development models and embedded software ecosystems. Linux-based software frameworks (Yocto, Ubuntu, RedHat, Debian). Managing large-scale embedded systems projects. Engineering discussions on software technology and strategy. Containers, orchestration, and virtualization technologies. Linux OS integration and packaging policies. Seniority level
