Overview
The Laboratory Technician in the Lau Lab at Boston University will help organize and maintain a research laboratory and participate in research studies focused on understanding the molecular mechanism regulating small RNA and RNAi function using genetics, molecular biology, cell biology and biochemical procedures. Such research will include creation and studying Drosophila and mosquito cell diseases, Drosophila and mosquito cell culture, transfection and gene transfer in cultured cells, DNA and RNA preparation, microscopy analysis, protein isolation and analysis. The employee will assist with technical aspects of experiments under the direction of senior investigators in the group. The laboratory technician will further be expected to prepare and maintain research and laboratory materials, make observations and assist with data analysis of experiments. This position will provide excellent training for candidates interested in applying to future Biology PhD programs. Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience
