Overview
The Laboratory Technician in the Lau Lab at Boston University will help organize and maintain a research laboratory and participate in research studies focused on understanding the molecular mechanism regulating small RNA and RNAi function using genetics, molecular biology, cell biology and biochemical procedures. Organize and maintain the laboratory and assist with technical aspects of experiments under the direction of senior investigators in the group. Participate in research studies focused on understanding the molecular mechanism regulating small RNA and RNAi function using genetics, molecular biology, cell biology and biochemical procedures. Engage in creation and study of Drosophila and mosquito cell models, including cell culture, transfection and gene transfer in cultured cells. DNA and RNA preparation, microscopy analysis, protein isolation and analysis. Prepare and maintain research and laboratory materials; make observations and assist with data analysis of experiments.
