Cetera Financial Group is seeking a Wealth Management Product Solutions Consultant. This is a unique opportunity to join our team that guides financial professionals with unbiased guidance on available investment and insurance products. The Product Solutions Consultant will support financial professionals in understanding how to implement various investment strategies and products into their practice. The role requires a deep working knowledge of major product lines such as mutual funds, annuities, alternative investments, and other products, the ability to connect investor challenges to product solutions, and to educate financial professionals on how to implement these solutions.
The position requires strong consultative skills and the ability to assist financial professionals with sales ideas, prospecting techniques, overcoming sales objections, unbiased product guidance, and determining the best approach to closing sales opportunities, including developing strategies for point-of-sale meetings. The role will regularly interact with multiple departments including Advisory Sales, Growth Officers, Financial Planning, Advanced Planning Due Diligence, Compliance, Supervision, and Operations. The Product Solutions Consultant will provide education to advisors through inbound and outbound phone activity, support key institution training opportunities, manage webinars, and related activities.
What you will do:
Act as Subject Matter Expert for the product lines supported by the team consisting of, but not limited to, annuities, mutual funds, 529s, alternative investments, structured products, and donor advised funds
Consult with advisors to deliver product guidance specific to client scenarios
Assist advisors with strategic sales ideas and competitive product positioning; provide guidance on best-in-class solutions and resources from Partner Firms
Support advisor education on key investment challenges such as secure income needs and college planning
Track phone metrics, emails, and consultations to measure activity and questions
Provide leads to Wealth Management Consulting, Growth Officers, and Financial Planning Teams when appropriate
Provide industry trend insights to advisors and support marketing and educational campaigns through calls, consultations, and presentations
Interface with partner firms
Advocate for the resources, tools, services, and support provided to financial professionals
Other duties as assigned
What you need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
5+ years of sales experience in the financial services industry
FINRA Series 7 securities registration
Life, Accident & Health licenses and Series 65 or 66 are a plus
Excellent communication, presentation, public-speaking, and interpersonal skills
Strong customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills with adaptability to different personality types
Presentation/training skills to conduct group training programs
Detail-oriented, self-directed, with ability to multitask and prioritize
Ability to work well independently and in a team; willingness to learn and self-teach
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Compensation: The base annual salary range for this role is $70,000 to $90,000, plus a competitive performance-based bonus. Base annual salary depends on factors including skill set, years of experience, certifications, and location. Base salary may differ due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
