Overview
The Department of Statistics at Stanford University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in any area of Statistics or Probability, broadly understood. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in statistics, data science, computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline at the time of appointment and will be expected to teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The term of appointment is expected to begin on September 1, 2026. Responsibilities
Establish and lead a world‑leading independent research program. Teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Contribute to the department’s teaching, mentoring, and service missions. Qualifications
Ph.D. in statistics, data science, computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline by the time of appointment. Evidence or potential to develop a world‑leading independent research program. Strong communication skills and commitment to teaching and mentoring. Application materials
