Overview

Reporting to the Training Lead or Change Management Lead, this position serves as a Senior Trainer for the Student Information System (SIS) Project, part of the multi-year campus-wide Enterprise Systems Renewal (ESR) Program. This effort aims to streamline core business and administrative processes at UC San Diego, providing comprehensive solutions for course scheduling, enrollment services, academic records, curriculum management, student finances, and financial aid. The Senior Trainer applies adult learning methodology to plan, develop, and deliver training on large-scale system changes impacting tens of thousands of students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities

Design interactive learning experiences and microlearning modules for large-scale system changes. Develop performance support tools and implement measurement strategies to track training effectiveness. Collaborate with project stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure comprehensive perspective integration while maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle. Deliver training on complex systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder needs. Maintain autonomy, exercise strategic thinking, and make sound decisions with minimal supervision. Utilize course authoring, graphics, and presentation software for web-based training; adapt approaches based on stakeholder needs. Develop learning ecosystems leveraging instructional design, project management, and organizational change management principles; provide transparent progress reporting and effective prioritization. Coordinate, track, and design programs/materials across multiple systems and user groups; demonstrate reliability and forward-thinking to deliver high-quality training solutions. Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of delivering training programs and instructional design for adult learners with strong written and verbal communication skills. Analytical skills to conduct analysis, develop recommendations, and solve problems; familiarity with organizational policies and procedures. Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related business software; experience with HTML and web editors; familiarity with Articulate, LucidChart, ServiceNow, Cascade CMS, YouTube, Atlassian Confluence, and the Microsoft Office suite or equivalent. Experience in needs assessment and development of new training courses; ability to design integrated curricula considering content, sequence, and delivery options. Strong project management skills to plan, resource, monitor delivery, and address barriers; ability to set objectives and milestones. Understanding of adult learning theories and diverse learning styles; ability to conceptualize, develop, and evaluate effective delivery techniques. Experience with coordinating, tracking, and designing programs/materials using tools such as Google Apps, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, or Photoshop. Special Conditions

Base pay range: $33.29/hr - $59.15/hr Annual Full Pay Range: $69,500 - $123,500 (prorated if appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $33.29 - $59.15.
