LEO Impact Capital is JBG SMITH’s dedicated affordable workforce housing platform, acquiring, operating, and financing multifamily housing in high-impact neighborhoods to preserve affordability for middle-income residents while delivering competitive returns for investors and sustainable buildings. The portfolio includes over 3,000 units with an active acquisition pipeline, supported by the broader JBG SMITH organization.
Position Summary JBG SMITH is seeking financial analyst candidates to support its investments and workforce housing (LEO Impact Capital) teams. The role will work on a wide range of projects and assignments.
What You\'ll Do
Financial Modeling: Create and maintain valuation models for new investment pursuits, new development projects, and existing assets in the portfolio.
Transactions: Coordinate with internal and external team members to assist in pipeline tracking, due diligence, and closing processes for acquisitions and dispositions.
Research: Synthesize internal and external data related to demographics, rent, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
Business Plans: Assist with the development of the initial business plans for new and existing investments.
Presentations: Prepare memoranda and presentations related to market updates, scenario analyses, investment opportunities, and reporting for lenders, partners, and senior executives.
Operations: Review and analyze business plans, loan documents, leasing activity, and monthly property operating performance.
What You\'ll Need To Succeed (requirements)
Experience: 1 - 2 years of experience with superior quantitative skills and analytical abilities (investment banking, real estate finance, private equity, or brokerage preferred).
Academic: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in real estate, finance or business administration.
Skills: Attention to detail, proficiency in financial modeling in Microsoft Excel, superior written and verbal communication skills, advanced technical skills and ability to analyze complex datasets, and ability to prepare PowerPoint presentations.
Compensation and Equal Opportunity The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 annually. Salary decisions are based on factors including scope and responsibilities, experience, location, education, skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
