Overview
The Department of Dermatology at the University of Virginia is seeking candidates for a full-time or part-time, tenure-on-non-tenure, open-rank Professor of Dermatology specializing in Medical Dermatology and/or Dermatopathology. The department sees approximately 28,000 visits at its main campus and seeks a faculty member to complement our team of clinicians. A commitment to teaching, clinical excellence and academic scholarship is essential. Duties include teaching of residents and medical students, direct patient care, and participation in scholarly activities. The University of Virginia Department of Dermatology, founded in 1924, is the oldest dermatology department in the South. Its mission is to enrich the quality of human life by improving health, to provide excellent and compassionate care for patients, to advance the field of dermatology, to seek medical and scientific knowledge, and to create an environment for professional preparation of individuals dedicated to health care service in the field of Dermatology. Responsibilities
Teach residents and medical students Provide direct patient care Engage in scholarly activities Qualifications
MD or DO ABMS board-certified or board-eligible in dermatology Fellowship in dermatopathology preferred Eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia Rank dependent on qualifications, experience, scholarly achievement, clinical service, and research Details
